Home to the 2017 Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals, Aspen is quite possibly the United States’ most famous ski destinations. And while many of the trails skew advanced — moguls flock to Aspen Mountain — families and new skiers will love Snowmass’ and Buttermilk’s lower-key runs.

Shred the Slopes at Winter Park

If the thought of renting a car in the Colorado winter sends you into a flurried fury, no worries. Your day trip from Downtown Denver can be a reality. Starting January hop on the Amtrak Winter Park Express ski train directly from Denver’s Union Station. Soak Steamboat Springs
