416 Acres of Water
Formerly knows as Town Lake, the 416-acre "lake" is actually a manmade reservoir off the Colorado River. It was built in 1930, and renamed in the 1970's after former First Lady and longtime Austin-resident, Lady Bird Johnson, who played an important role in revitalizing this now-beautiful body of water.

Bat Sightings on the Bridge
A sight to be seen, the largest urban bat colony in North America lives underneath the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. At dusk from March to September, crowds gather to see the estimated 1.5 million bats fly east, in unison, creating an almost cloud-like effect.
Swim at Barton Springs
A short 10-minute trip to nearby Barton Springs Pool in Austin’s Zilker Park is a must. The outdoor swimming pool is filled entirely with water from nearby natural springs and miraculously maintains an average water temperature year-round of 68 degrees.
